Dr. Stephen Burrell
Steve has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Grace Theological Seminary. He brings a love and passion for teaching the Bible. Steve's philosophy of preaching comes from Nehemiah 8:8, "They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading."
Steve and his wife of 26 years, Michelle, have two daughters, Kaitlyn and Stephanie. Michelle works at a local middle school as a special education math teacher. The Burrells love the outdoors, movies, family time, hanging out, and going out for dinner.
Pastor of Pastoral Care
Dave was born in Tachikawa, Japan, but became a "local" upon graduating from Klein High School in 1987. He graduated from Columbia International University in South Carolina with a degree in Bible and a minor in general studies. While at CIU, Dave worked at the Ben Lippen School, coaching volleyball, basketball, and softball, while teaching Bible, Health, and P.E. After graduation, Dave moved to Georgia to become a supervisor at a Christian camp and retreat center.
In September 2003, Dave became the full-time student pastor at MBC. Dave is married to Lisa, "the greatest wife of all time", and is the father of three. They love paintball and camping.
Mat hails from the great State of Missouri and has been leading worship since he was 13 years old. His passion is training and discipling other worship leaders and leading the Church into an authentic, face to face encounter with their Creator. Mat bases his theology of worship on Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Mat has been married to his best friend, Jessica, since 2003 and they have two children, Cadence and Smith. Mat and his family also have 3 of the best dogs in the world, Milton, Sooie, and Gus. Mat is a diehard Arkansas Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. When not watching college football, he enjoys traveling, guitars (collecting, playing, and repairing), and naps.
Jonathan grew up in Round Rock, Texas and moved to Nacogdoches where he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in History. He is currently working on a Master of Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute. He is passionate about student ministry and seeing the next generation walk in relationship with Jesus and live on mission for the kingdom of God.
His favorite verse is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
In his free time, Jonathan loves the outdoors (fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, climbing), watching sports, drinking a good cup of coffee, and reading.

Marsha and her family started attending Magnolia Bible Church in 2008 and began attending more regularly after moving to Magnolia in 2012. She is the mother of four amazing boys, aged 4 to 19 years-old; Johnathan, Jaron, Gabriel, and Ethan.
Most recently, Marsha was a Pre-k teacher for a local Mother's Day Out program and served on MBC's MOPS leadership team for the past six years. Prior to that, she worked in Purchasing and Administrative management. Marsha has a passion for helping children learn and have fun, she loves letting God use her talents when and where needed. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her boys and any outdoor activity.
Taylor graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. During her time at SHSU, Taylor was a small group leader for Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship and did two internships with them: one in Santiago, Chile and one at SHSU, both in which she sought to reach students who had not given their lives to Jesus yet.
Taylor is married to Ryan, her college sweetheart. They love hiking, traveling, and going to the movies. Their goal is to visit all 50 states together. Taylor also loves reading, writing, and photography.
Kimberly, an Iowa native, moved to Texas in 2008 and has been attending Magnolia Bible Church since August 2019. She married her husband, John, in 2004, and together they have six wonderful children.
Prior to joining the MBC staff, Kimberly has worked in several roles including HR consultant, Administration Assistant, Senior Pastor Assistant, and Childcare Director.
Kimberly’s favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things pass away; behold, all things become new.” In her free time, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and going to the beach.
